Earth, like wine, is a fascinating living material
A tribute to Vertus

The love we have for our land is part of our identity. As farmers and winegrowers, we have learned to observe the land from every angle. We are proud of the quality and great diversity of our terroirs. We practice sustainable viticulture (soil work, controlled grass cover, manual interventions, etc.) and our approach is certified as having a high environmental value (HVE level 3).
We grow the three emblematic Champagne grape varieties with rigour and patience. Our 14-hectare vineyard is spread over five villages: Vertus, Cramant, Oiry, Bergères-les-Vertus and Sezanne.

It all starts in Vertus, home to our brand. The vineyard covers 5 villages, from north to south, from Cramant to Sézanne.
Most of the plots in Vertus, our homeland, are at the bottom of the hill where the earth is highly fertile and a joy to work with. The mainly silty-chalky soil makes the wine taste salty, creamy and refreshingly zesty, even exotic.
The soil in Bergères-les-Vertus is more silty-clay than its Vertus neighbour with a strong limestone presence. Here, the aromas burst with almond and berry notes to create a Pinot-style Chardonnay.
Our Cramant and Oiry plots to the north have an incredibly clay-rich soil with chalk often lying deep. It gives the wine a full-bodied, smooth, floral and dried fruit profile.
Chardonnay enjoys the Sézanne hillside’s mix of silt, clay and limestone with the perfect sun exposure to develop floral aromas with a balance between sharp limestone and plump fruit. Meunier enjoys the same climate to showcase its fruity and exotic side.
